#28 – Laos (monastery, Pakse again)

As already mentioned, no Russia visa received.

So my hope is still to extend the visa in Laos or Vietnam at a reasonable price. Then again to the embassy, because I have to have a valid visa for at least 90 days in a third country. Nevertheless, I don’t enjoy Russia and its bureaucracy anymore. Such a beautiful country and they make such problems there. If nothing changes, I have to come up with a new plan for next year. So China and possibly Russia may not come into question. However, there is a short stretch between Kazakhstan and Mongolia through Russia. Read More

#26 – Cambodia (Part 2)

After 11 days we left Rumi Camping. We still had 15 days visa and about 350 km to Laos. A lot of time. So we decided to hitchhike towards the sea. Bicycles and almost all luggage we left at Emre.

After 1 1/2 days and 6 cars we arrived in Sihanoukville in the afternoon. We stayed overnight in a temple or a school.

At the beach in Sihanoukville we slept another night and the next day we went for 12 dollars to the Hippie or party island Koh Rong (the smaller neighbour island Koh Rong Sanloem is the quieter one of the two, Natali wanted to sell Henna however).

On the way there, again and again fully loaded vehicles

#25 – Cambodia (Part 1)

Cambodia, it was obvious that it was poorer. Children came to me to get money.
Nevertheless I liked the country from the beginning. It was a bit chaotic because I didn’t know what a shop or camp was, but it was easy to find out. We slept outside the border town of Poi Pet, a few hundred meters from the border.
Ants have grabbed our food

Internet we got directly, I Metfone, Natali with Smart. It cost me 6 dollars, no idea what volume. Read More

In March it starts again and further plans

Sun, palm trees, new cultures, new people, new fauna, new flora, new food, just finally a new adventure. The time until then is simply too long, you wait too long, every day is too long, every hour is like a torture, it just hurts me to wait. I need my drug.

Now at the beginning of March it is finally time, the journey goes into another part.
Completely different than originally planned, it goes now with the airplane for a short trip direction Thailand (bicycle is taken of course). There Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam are taken more exactly under the magnifying glass. Once again I am not alone, this time Natali (Ukraine) comes with me.
The excursion will probably go until June/July, what will happen afterwards, I can’t say yet. But I will certainly not sit still, my curiosity about cultures and landscapes is too big for that.

#22 – Oman

In the Emirates the chaos continued with unsympathetic people who liked to give loud orders.
Waiting in the bus and in the halls without knowing why, the whole procedure took 5 hours. Of course illogically organized.
We spent the whole trip with 3 other Germans. A couple and a man, all with bicycles.
Unfortunately my speedometer was broken.

We drove directly to the beach, we wanted to camp there. But it was forbidden. Off to the park, which was unfortunately fenced and rather a fair. But also in the park camping should be forbidden. Are we in the EU? I asked myself.
So we had to go to a hostel. For the room we paid about 30 dollars.

The photos are now not at Flickr (Flickr would like to have money now), but at my site. For this I have added a menu item “Photos” above.

Oman post is finished and will be published in the next days.

In the future I’ll try to write shorter articles, but more will come.

For further improvement suggestions I am open.
